APG experience proves empowering for young Zeyu

Behind the computer screens that conjure up data for the official APG website sits a team of dedicated volunteers – including Fan Zeyu, an 18-year-old student. For him, the APG is just as demanding and meaningful as it is to any of the other athletes. Necessitating a keen eye for detail, his role as On-Venue Results (OVR) Assistant involves disseminating competition scores in real time by keying them into the computer system.

There she was, on the Singapore Taekwondo Federation’s (STF) official page. Scrolling down the list of 19 national athletes – 28th SEA Games champions Chelsea Sim and Kang Rui Jie included – shortlisted to participate in next year’s Asian Cities Tournament, we spotted Sister Linda Sim’s name.

Lighting up in celebration of APG 2015

In a significant event which marked the start of the 8th ASEAN Para Games (APG), more than 1,000 volunteers and representatives from various community groups participated in the APG Torch Parade. The flame was delivered from the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza to the Singapore Sports Hub by way of a scenic route that passed landmarks such as Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage and Tanjong Rhu.
